Hungary and Poland have blocked some fairly unremarkable EU conclusions on the rule of law.

The two countries had problems with the role of the commission - which is fundamental to how the EU works.

“The broadcasters have to stop being so polite when politicians lie.”

@OborneTweets calls on the media to challenge Boris Johnson over his claims that the Tories will build 40 new hospitals.

This is pretty embarrassing for @itvnews @itvpresscentre - a debate dominated by @theSNP, Scottish independence and Brexit with no SNP voice, no pro-independence voice, and no Remainc voice allowed #ITVDebate #GE19 #VoteSNP

Boris Johnson just said that because he's going back on his plans to cut corporation tax, there'll be more money for ordinary people, AND HE WANTS PRAISE FOR THAT!
That's like saying "Hey, I didn't steal your wallet. And look! You've got a wallet now!"

Why is the moderator not correcting Johnson’s lies? What is the point of a moderator if they let people spout untruths without challenge? This is a shitshow. #ITVLeadersDebate

I get why @jeremycorbyn doesn’t do personal attacks but he would do no harm in telling the truth about @BorisJohnson - that he is a liar. That the audience laughed contemptuously when Johnson said the truth mattered sums it up.
